We believe everyone has a gift to give, and more importantly, a talent to lend.
We're ringing in the new year by celebrating the many ways individuals, families and organizations are lending their time and talent to strengthen our community - with the 2012 Care Creates Community Challenge.

Wimmer Solutions wants you to tell your story about the causes you care about, and to help you inspire others to get involved! We're seeking companies, families and individuals who are making a real difference in the community, so tell us your story!

What types of stories are you looking for?
Think out of the box - any volunteer activity is fair game, from coaching your daughter's hockey team to organizing a clothing drive at your elementary school. What we want to know is how YOU make a difference, so share your story today!

How do I enter?
Entering the Challenge is simple, and takes less than 5 minutes:

  1. Send an email to community@wimmersolutions.com with the following information, mail your entry to us using the address available on our Contact Page or drop it off at our office at the same address:
  • Your Contact Information: Name, Email Address, Phone Number
  • Your story, in 250 words or less, of how you give your time, talent, or energy to a cause or issue affecting our local community
  • Optional: video links, photos, or any other materials that help illustrate how you give back, and the URL of the nonprofit organization you volunteer with (if applicable)

     2. Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter, where you can view and comment on other submissions (we'll begin posting all eligible entries after entries have closed on February 29th). We hope you'll find some new and creative ideas to get involved, while sharing your own great work with others.

How will finalists be selected, and what are the prizes?
An independent panel of local business leaders will select three entries - one from an individual, one from a family, and one from a public or private for-profit organization - to receive:

  • Extensive media coverage, including radio spots on STAR 101.5
  • Professionally orchestrated social media campaigns about your project
  • 40 hours of Wimmer Solutions consulting time to jumpstart your new community venture or take your existing actions to another level
  • An exclusive prize pack of Wimmer Solutions gear

What is the entry deadline?
We'll be accepting stories from January 1, 2012 through February 29, 2012.

Are there any other requirements to qualify for the Challenge?
The Community Challenge seeks to highlight volunteer work and community ventures that:

  • Have taken place in the Puget Sound area: King, Pierce, Thurston, Snohomish, Kitsap, Mason, Skagit, Island, San Juan or Whatcom counties since January 1, 2011. Ventures that are based elsewhere in the US but which intend to expand to the Puget Sound area before December 31, 2012 may also be considered
  • Align with Wimmer Solutions' Equal Opportunity statement; nonprofit organizations associated with the work must not discriminate against any individual or group covered by the statement
  • Are secular and not directly affiliated with a political group

Who can I contact for more information?
You can email community@wimmersolutions.com with general questions, or contact Nicole Browning, Director of Marketing, Corporate Communications and Community Outreach at nicole@wimmersolutions.com

So what are you waiting for? Share your story today, and enter Wimmer Solutions' 2012 Care Creates Community Challenge.

Thank you for all you do, and good luck!
