Founder/CEO Matt Sauri Dons Kilt Once Again for RMHCs Annual 'Men in Kilts' Fundraiser

It's true! Matt Has Donned a Kilt to Fundraise for The Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Western Washington & Alaska (RMHC)

The rumors (and photographic evidence) are true! Matt bravely bared his legs and donned a kilt for the “Man in a Kilt” fundraising competition supporting the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Western Washington & Alaska (RMHC) again this year!

The Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Western Washington & Alaska (RMHC) provides a home-away-from-home for more than 400 families a year, who have a child receiving treatment at Seattle Children’s Hospital. The RMHC's Seattle house provides over 28,000 nights of housing to nearly 500 families per year. They typically operate at 97% capacity year-round. The House is more than a place to stay. The house offers support to families with a pantry, therapy dog visits, activities for kids, and even homemade dinners from volunteers most days of the week.

The average length of stay for a family in 2016 was 62 days; some stays as short as 4 days, some longer than a year. In total the Seattle house served 465 families in 2016 alone for a total of 28, 603 nights. Volunteers made the house feel a little more like home by preparing 465 meals and hosting 118 movie nights.

Last year’s competition raised an astounding $71,280! That amount will provided families with approximately 2,376 nights of much needed shelter at the Seattle Ronald McDonald House, along with a sense of community and belonging in a time of crisis. By participating in this fundraiser last year, Matt was able to raise $8,810.We have a big goal this year and we will need your help! Our goal is to reach 1,050 votes or $10,500. This would provide 350 nights for RMHC families while their child is undergoing medical treatment. You can vote for Matt as your favorite kilted fellow with a donation of $10 (1 vote) or more. We know it's a big goal but when you have a cause like RMHC to support, you dream as big as you can. To vote for Matt, click here to make a donation.
