Wimmer Solutions Commitment to Diversity in the Community
Wimmer Solutions is dedicated to building long-lasting partnerships with local organizations. Our goal is to make a measurable impact on critical issues while inspiring our employees and other community members to give their own time, talents, and resources to various programs. A small sample of partnership examples can be found below.
Corporate Partner, Technology Access Foundation Academy (TAF)
TAF is a non-profit leader in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education for students to prepare them for college-level study and professional roles. Located in Federal Way, Washington, TAF Academy is a 6th-12th grade STEM-focused public neighborhood school that prepares students for college and careers via a project-based curriculum. Wimmer Solutions partnered with the AFAR Foundation and Global Explorers (now No Barriers Youth) to launch the Learning AFAR Program at TAF Academy, enabling ten low income and minority youth to participate in a STEM-and-sustainability curriculum culminating in a global service-learning experience in Costa Rica. Wimmer contributed $25,000 to the project as the headline sponsor of The Lighthouse – the engineering and design lab at TAF Academy.
The Jefferson Awards
The Jefferson Award recognizes unsung heroes of public service who demonstrate community service's highest ideals and achievements. Wimmer Solutions partnered with Seattle City Club to honor award winners. Wimmer provided 40 hours of pro bono technology and business consulting expertise to Jefferson Award winner, Ramon Rivera, who created the renowned Mariachi Huenachi afterschool program at Wenatchee High School. Rivera teaches students folk music from Mexico, inspiring them to stay in school and attain their dreams of attending college. Wimmer also supported award winner Todd McNeal, who founded Hand in Hand. This non-profit organization manages Safe Place, a 72-hour receiving center that cares for children in emergency situations when foster homes are difficult or impossible to find. Wimmer Solutions provided the Everett-based shelter with organizational strategy and technology support.
Pride Foundation
Pride's mission is to build a safer and more equitable world for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people and their families in the Northwest. Wimmer has provided support to several Pride events, parades, and initiatives.
United Way's Day of Caring
The largest volunteer event in the state means joining thousands of people out in your community at hundreds of projects giving back and making King County a better place to call home.
Wimmer employees built a P-patch in Rainier Beach/MLK Way area for local families. See more regarding our local United Way and their Day of Caring here.
