Sarah Safley: Championing Inclusivity in Talent Acquisition

Sarah Safley, a Principal Recruiter in the Talent Acquisition team, has been with Wimmer Solutions for 20 years and is a cornerstone of the team. Nominated by Deanna Johnson, Director of Global Recruiting, Sarah is recognized for her exceptional leadership and dedication to the growth and success of others. Deanna highlights Sarah's consistent excellence and her ability to uplift those around her. "Sarah not only delivers as our top-performing recruiter year after year, but she also invests in the growth and success of others. She dedicates her time to mentoring and training new team members, ensuring they feel supported and set up to succeed. Her leadership is rooted in care as she holds high standards, but always balances them with encouragement, empathy, and genuine investment in people." 

Sarah's commitment to community is also evident in the relationships she builds with field employees. Deanna notes, "Sarah embodies Wimmer’s commitment to community through the relationships she builds with field employees. She provides what can only be described as 'white glove treatment'—listening, guiding, and celebrating their journeys even beyond placement. Many of her candidates remain in touch with her long after they’ve been placed, a true reflection of the trust, respect, and sense of belonging she fosters." 

20 Years of Living Up to “Care Creates Community”

Sarah's journey at Wimmer Solutions is filled with memorable moments and impactful experiences. Reflecting on her nearly 20-year tenure, Sarah shares, "I've been with Wimmer for nearly 20 years, and I joined Wimmer because Matt Sauri, as the Founder and the CEO, provided me a good view into the mission and vision of Wimmer, and it was a company that I wanted to be a part of, one that always was inclusive and caring about the people that made us successful."

One of Sarah's proudest moments was when she successfully integrated Rog Lopez, Recruiting and Operations Manager from Wimmer’s Philippine Delivery Center, into the Talent Acquisition team. "Rog came in as a Philippines recruiter offshore to join the talent acquisition team as a sourcing recruiter supporting me directly. It was a hard time because we'd never had a true successful global recruiter before, somebody that wasn't sitting in Seattle where I was sitting and was in the office with the rest of the recruiting team. I was able to provide him a safe space and include him as if he was sitting right next to us in the Seattle office." 

Belonging Beyond the Workplace

Sarah also cherishes the sense of family and community at Wimmer Solutions. She recalls her wedding, saying, "I was employee number seven, and I had been with Wimmer for 11 months when I got married. Every person in the company at the time was invited and was there. That was very special to me because I believe in a work-life balance. I believe in family. Family is very important to me. And Wimmer showed up that day in just the best fashion, cheering for our life together and happiness."

Sarah's dedication to the community extends beyond her professional life. She emphasizes the importance of inclusivity and community involvement, stating, "It's community events, it's volunteering… the Heroes runs that we did as a team back in the day, the events that we did to support other members of our team, other field employees that were doing important things in their lives, volunteering, community outreach.”

Sarah Safley's story is a testament to the values of care, inclusion, and community that Wimmer Solutions values. Her leadership, dedication, and genuine investment in people for the last 20 years have made a lasting impact on the organization and our culture.
